The Agape Service
(Bring and Share Sunday Fellowship Meal)

First Sunday of each monthTime: 1.30pm – 3.30pm

It is an accepted fact that we can be in the same fellowship for years and not know
each other. It is true that increasingly we are becoming ever busier and yet for
others loneliness and isolations is the norm. Sunday for many is the only day
(occasion) when the majority of us meet to see each other, and even this time
together is but for a brief period. The Bring and Share fellowship gathering is a very precious occasion in the life of the fellowship. I would even go so far as to say it affords us the opportunity of getting to know each other, breaks down barriers and facilitates and deepens the bonds of love and friendship between us. A loving family Church, I would suggest, is not birthed out of thin air. We have to make a concerted effort and the provision for it to happen. Being together can also be a time for those who happen to spend a lot of time on their own to engender a sense of belonging. Also, this meal gives opportunity to invite friends to meet the body of Christ. The food is provided by the generosity of individuals and families who attend. We encourage every one to bring enough to eat for themselves and a little extra for another. Vegetarian or non vegetarian, Kosher or non kosher. I emphasise that if for any reason you are not able to bring something please do not let this become a hindrance. We do not want you to miss out on the gathering together. Your fellowship and presence is most important to us. Our time together helps with the forging and building of relationships. We desire not to be strangers in the same fellowship. ‘Let us be a family of believers and not just Church goers’. It is only a once a month meeting so please make this a priority in your act of worship. After lunch we all clear up together and then continue with our time of worship. We always aim to finish roundabout 3.30pm. ‘Let us not give up meeting together and all the more as you see the day approaching’. (Heb 10:25)
